Dickson and William Heise. / No copyright registration. / Kinetoscope 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / Early Kinetograph camera films were shot at approximately 48 frames per second. The film was shot at the Black Maria studio, West Orange, New Jersey, at some time between 1 October and 17 December 1894. The ‘R’ on a card in the lower left portion of frame indicates the film was shot for the Raff & Gammon Kinetoscope Company for domestic distribution. This internal production indication was not used before 1 October 1894. The original film can bears the title Fire Rescue — H & L [Hook and Ladder]. Website-AFI erroneously lists the released year as 1897.
