Art direction by Ragnar Bratten. Set design by Vilhelm Bryde. Costume design by Ingrid Günther. Cinematography by J. Julius (Julius Jaenzon) and Carl Axel Söderström. / Premiered March 10 (part one) and March 17 (part two), 1924 in Stockholm, Sweden. / Standard 35mm spherical 1.33:1 format. / Originally over three hours and shown in two parts over two nights. Cut by Stiller in September 1924 into one complete film for its Berlin premiere. Later cut in early sound era by Hyltén-Cavallius from 4554 metres to 2775 metres and adding synchronized music on wax discs. The film was originally restored by Julius Jaenzon in 1955. The film was again restored to nearly four hours in the 1970s by the Swedish Film Institute.
