The film was released in the USA by Selznick in 1923. A print of the film was recovered by a private film collector in the 1990s. The novel was previously filmed as The Deerslayer (1913). The novel was subsequently filmed as The Last of the Mohicans (1920).

Drama: Historical.

Survival status: Prints exist in private film collections [16mm reduction positives].
