Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? When Muggins announces to his wife his intention of going to his annual college dinner she determines to prevent a repetition of what happened the year before. She puts one of her long gloves in his pocket, feeling sure he will find it during the evening and be reminded of his promise to return home early. Huggins takes an affectionate leave of her, and is soon having a roaring time quaffing the jovial glass with his old college bums. At 11 o’clock his wife asks herself if Henry has found the glove yet. Evidently he has not, for he is at that moment busy trying to keep time with a rousing college song. At midnight his wife has a pleasant dream of her husband’s discovery of the glove and thereafter, until three o’clock, Mrs. Huggins sleeps peacefully. At that time the party breaks up, and all the members pile into an owl lunch wagon. A wild ride, three college cheers and Huggins is deposited at his door. Mrs. Huggins is awakened by the noise and when she sees the time her face sets grimly. Her husband, after a trying time with the keyhole drops his pumps in the goldfish tank. In getting them out a fish bites him. Then he finds the glove, and in his befuddled condition, can’t imagine where it came from. Mrs. Muggins suddenly sits up, and misinterpreting her frown, he starts in to explain how he came into possession of the glove. It is a weird tale of how poor Charley Smith had died from drinking too much milk at their banquet and left him the glove as a keepsake. Mrs. Huggins, with a meaning smile, brings forth the other glove. He is flabbergasted but soberly informs her, “That’s my story, and I’m going to stick to it.”
