In England, the dying Lord Stanley forgives his son, reinstating the inheritance just before his death. Now poverty-stricken, the young man sees a personal ad in a newspaper placed by the family lawyer seeking his whereabouts. Contacting the lawyer at his hotel, the young man learns of his inheritance. Meanwhile, the girl’s father receives a letter from the lawyer, who is a family friend, suggesting he bring the rich and handsome young Lord Stanley to his home.
