The first Mothers of Invention release was a two-disc album of irreverent rock music, which must have totally confused what few of the pop-eared masses heard it in the rise of the mid-1960s Flower Power era. Those with a taste for musicial experimentation and sarcastic irreverence knew that they had found a gem. Frank Zappa remixed the album in 1987 and blessed the new masters for future rereleases in 1993. “Help, I’m A Rock” and “It Can’t Happen Here” on the end of side three became separate tracks in the new masters. |
