Mae Marsh
Born 9 November 1984 in Madrid, New Mexico Territory, USA, as Mary Wayne Marsh.
Died 13 February 1968 in Hermosa Beach, California, USA, of a heart attack.
Sister of actress Marguerite Marsh, actress Mildred Marsh, editor Frances Marsh and cinematographer Oliver T. Marsh.
Married Louis Lee Arms, 1918; until Mae’s death, 13 February 1968; three children.
Mae Marsh began in films in 1912 for Biograph Company, working under directors D.W. Griffith and Mack Sennett. She followed Griffith into Fine Art Film Company and Griffith’s independent film productions. Beginning in 1916, she worked for Goldwyn as a feature film star. In 1923, she travelled to England where she starred in several films.
