Kathlyn Williams

Born 31 May 1888 in Butte, Montana, USA.
Died 23 September 1960 in Hollywood, California, USA, of a heart attack.

Married Victor Kainer, 1913; divorced, 1915; son, Victor Kainer Jr., died 1922.
Married actor and Lasky executive Charles Eyton, 1916; divorced, 1931.

Kathlyn Williams began her performing career as a stage actor, and made her first films for American Mutoscope & Biograph Company in 1908, working for director D.W. Griffith. After two years at Biograph, she began working for The Selig Polyscope Company, Incorporated (1910-1916), where she became a star and, in 1914, wrote and directed at least one film. Williams also appeared in films for The Oliver Morosco Photoplay Company (1916-1917), Famous Players-Lasky Corporation (circa 1918 through circa 1923) where she appeared in films by directors Cecil B. DeMille and William C. de Mille, Clara Kimball Young Film Corporation (1919), Universal Pictures Corporation (circa 1923), Cosmopolitan Pictures Corporation (1928) and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Corporation (circa 1929). She retired from film work in 1935.
