The Pantages Theatre was originally designed and built as a vaudeville venue. By 1925, it was a first-run motion picture house. The Pantages reign ended in this theatre on 13 February 1926 shortly before Alexander Pantages opened his new Pantages Theatre at 1182 Market Street on 20 February 1926.
Years later, the building would house the Kress Department Store.
The building at 937 Market Street now contains retail stores and attorney’s offices.
