The Portola Theatre was a smaller venue that was soon overshadowed by larger motion picture theatres developed nearby on Market Street. Theatre operations discontinued in 1928, and the building housed the Gray Line Bus Terminal.
In 1944, the Portola Theatre resumed motion picture exhibitions and continued as such until it was renamed the Paris Theatre in 1961. The theatre closed and was demolished in 1971.
