About the
HEVC (H.265)
Video Format

The HEVC (also known as H.265 and MPEG-H Part 2) video
format
is a video compression format that superceded the H.264
format in file compression efficiency while displaying no discernable
artifacts. The H.265 format renders 25 to 50 percent smaller file sizes
than H.264 while maintaining image quality. Most UHD equipment and
many personal computers support the format for streaming without
modification. Many personal computers do not have UHD-capable
disc drives.

HEVC has been superceded by the VVC (H.266) video format, which
has not yet been widely implemented in home video equipment.

More details on the HEVC video format may be found on Wikipedia.
