This DVD edition has been mastered from 16mm print materials that are soft in image detail and quite greyed out.
For want of a better disc, this is our recommended home video edition of the film.

This DVD-R edition has been mastered from a VHS videotape duplicated from a worn 8mm reduction print. The contrasty and coarse video transfer runs at too fast a rate for natural movement. Some of the gags run by too fast to be comprehended. Even the source print itself is substandard: One intertitle reads, “Forget that piece of camembert! You are going to marry the barren.” Don’t they mean, baron?
The film is accompanied by a soundtrack compiled from preexisting low-fidelity music recordings.
Hard to believe but this home video edition looks even worse than the Passport Video edition noted above. Garbage, to be sure.
