The film has been added to the National Film Registry.

This unexpected source of Charley Chase films has been mastered from a Kodascope 16mm reduction print held by Blackhawk Films/Film Preservation Associates. This Blu-ray Disc edition gives us the most that can be expected from its 16mm print, with moderate dust and speckling, and other minor print flaws.
The film is presented with an excellent music score by Robert Israel, performed by an ensemble.
This is our recommended home video edition of the film (and the main feature isn’t bad, either).

This DVD collection of Charley Chase short comedies was produced with the assistance of Lobster Films, Paris. The disc has been mastered from a 16mm reduction print that shows dust, speckling, frame jitters, and other minor print flaws.
The film is presented with an excellent music score by Robert Israel, performed by a small ensemble.
This is our recommended DVD home video edition of Mighty Like a Moose.

In this five-disc DVD collection, disc 3 contains the programs “Keaton, Arbuckle and St. John” and “Hal Roach’s All-Star Comedians.” This edition presents the film from a very-good color-toned 16mm reduction print, with dust, speckling, frame jitters, and other minor print flaws.
The musical accompaniment is excellent, accompanied with music by Robert Israel and performed by a small ensemble.
An OK edition but we recommend one 0f the editions noted above.

This budget DVD edition of the mammoth silent comedy collection has been released by the questionable company historically responsible for some of the worst-looking silent film DVDs ever released. However, it is apparent that the video masters prepared by producer David Shepard have been licensed and utilized for this budget edition. The film has been mastered from a very-good 16mm reduction print, with dust, speckling, frame jitters, and other minor print flaws.
Since the content has been manufactured onto five double-sided discs, and proper care appears to have been taken to master the DVDs, the visual quality is comparable to the 2002 Image edition noted above. This is an economical way to own that Image edition content.

This DVD edition of Charley Chase films is a good supplement to other previously-released Chase collections. This edition has been mastered from the same 16mm reduction print as all other home video editions. The extremely windowboxed picture actually is a small detriment. The source material has a bit of dust, speckling, and other minor print flaws.
The film is accompanied by a music score arranged by Rodney Sauer and performed by The Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra.

This early DVD edition was mastered from an analog video transfer prepared in the 1990s for release on VHS videotape and laserdisc from a fair 16mm reduction print. The print has the usual amount of dust and speckling but is too dark in places and certainly too coarse to render a satisfying picture.
The film is presented with music originally created for other post-synched silent comedies but not for this one, which is apparent from time to time.

|
This DVD edition of Mighty Like a Moose has been mastered from a good to very-good 16mm reduction print that is a little soft of image details but is so highly compressed to fit more than 200 minutes of content on a single-sided DVD that the picture is coarsely rendered, and looks terrible on a high-definition system (especially as the film gets to the shoeshine sequence).
The film is accompanied by synchronized sound effects and a music score performed on digital keyboards by Don Kinnier.
As there are better-looking editions available, this is not a recommended home video edition of this film.
