This DVD edition, originally produced for laserdisc in 1997, has been mastered from 35mm print materials from the Blackhawk Films collection. Despite the disc’s high video bit rate, this is not the greatest of video transfers here as there is edge sharpening that creates lighter white areas around darker elements of the picture details.
The film is accompanied by a modern music score performed by Eric Beheim.
This is the best-looking edition of the film available on home video, but there is also plenty of room for future improvement.
