This DVD edition has been mastered from the 35mm restoration print prepared by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung. The picture is reasonably detailed, with a broad greyscale range and very little dust and speckling, scratches or other print defects. This may be the result of digital cleanup efforts.

The film is accompanied by a fine music score performed on piano by Ekkehard Wölk.

Highly recommended. Surprisingly, this remains the only known home video edition of the film.
