This DVD edition has been mastered from a very good 16mm reduction print, which is touted as the only known surviving print. The slightly-faster than natural speed video transfer does hold some shadow details but seems rather soft in image details.
The film is accompanied by an original score written and performed on piano by Arthur Siegel. The recording quality is a little lacking as the audio quality is a bit muffled and the synchronization of the performance is substantially ahead of the action.
The supplementary material includes Cantor short films, a Cantor excerpt from a 1929 feature, and a photo gallery with commentary by Cantor impersonator Rick Rogers.
This being the only known home video edition of the film, this is our recommended edition.
