This DVD edition of Suds (1920) features both the American and European release versions of the film.
The American version is presented in a full-frame video transfer from a good to very-good 16mm reduction print (the only known surviving format of this version).
This version of the film is accompanied by a modern accompaniment by The Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra.
The foreign version of the film is presented in a windowboxed video transfer from a very-good 35mm positive originally held by Mary Pickford.
The foreign version is accompanied by a vintage pipe organ score performed by Gaylord Carter (originally for Pickford’s early 1970s 35mm theatrical rereleases of some of her films).
A supplemental section includes a side-by-side comparison of the American and European versions, and an alternate happy ending.
