This Blu-ray Disc edition from Kino Lorber features a restored 169-minute version of the film that has previously been known in the U.S. largely in its truncated American version. The 35mm source print is excellent, with a few long vertical scratches and some transient print decomposition. An occasional shot has been inserted from a worn 35mm print.
This edition features new musical accompaniment performed on piano by Javier Pérez de Azpeitia.
The lean supplementary material includes Woman in the Moon: The First Scientific Science Fiction Film, a brief documentary by Gabriele Jacobs on the production of the film (14 minutes).
This disc, with its improved image quality and restored length, is the best edition of The Woman in the Moon available on home video and is highly recommended.
